On just a short walk down Newbury you’ll see them everywhere. Keffiyehs. The checked red and white or black and white scarves worn by hipsters and Arab leaders alike.
The keffiyeh made its first appearance in American fashion in the late 1970s and 1980s, taken from traditional Arab clothing. Now keffiyehs have made a comeback, they are being sold in Urban Outfitters, H&M, other smaller trendy boutiques and as always on the streets of Manhattan. The band Vampire Weekend (see here) also wears the scarf securing the accessory in the trendy world of indie music.

Us two Alexandra’s have many things in common, frequent buying among them. During a Bloomingdale’s trip last week, we discovered these seriously cute Tory Burch platforms that are just perfect for the summer.
They elongated our legs, and looked great with our skinny jeans and leggings. They are very versatile, perfect for a walk down 5th Avenue, Sunday brunch, lunch at the country club, dinner along the beach or even a first date.
Somehow we each stopped ourselves from dropping the $310 that they required. The thing is, the more I think about them, the more I want them. They just might end up in my closet very soon.
Do you think they’re worth the money?

Stacey Bendet launched Alice + Olivia in 2002 when Barneys New York took notice of her vibrant creativity. Initially consisting solely of pants, Alice + Olivia has expanded into the glamorous contemporary line that it is today.
Alice + Olivia always catch my eye with their dresses, I have yet to see one that I dislike, they’re all perfect for a night on the town and I can see myself in one or twenty prancing along the streets of Manhattan. New York Magazine describes the look of the line as “Hamptons princess and Hollywood starlet staples” which feels like the perfect description. I can’t see how anybody can put these pieces on and feel anything short of royalty.
Below are a few of my favorite pieces. The green dress is from the spring’08 collection and the rest are from the winter’08 collection.

Is it just me, or do oversized bows make anything drop dead adorable?
I heart Marc more than ever this season. His dresses make me swoon and I’ve been going weak at the knees. Once I manipulate a way to get about 500 dollars, this dress will be glowing from within my closet. Without this dress I will lose the will to live.
Take a look.

Socialite turned designer Tory Burch has rapidly joined my list of favorite designers. Her prices aren’t as outrageous as others, and her classic style mixed with originality is impeccable. My wish list? Her gorgeous red clutch is perfect for any night out or brunch on Sunday afternoon. Also, a structured blazer, perfect for spring or fall. The two combined make for an effortlessly chic outfit. ![]()
